The Parish Lunch

We seek to encourage a sense of community in our parish of Claverton Village and Down, and so we run a monthly lunch which gives the chance to get together in a welcoming, informal atmosphere.  Lunch consists of a choice of homemade soups with a roll, followed by a choice of puddings, and we ask for a donation of £3 to help with costs.  The Parish Lunch takes place in Claverton Down Community Hall, once a month on Monday, 12noon for a 12.20pm start finishing by 1.50pm, dates as follows:

2 Mar, 13 Apr, 11 May, 1 Jun, 6 Jul, 7 Sep, 5 Oct, 2 Nov, 7 Dec 2015

Mission Support

We have an annual mission focus for our prayers and financial giving.  Over recent years, this has been in support of the remarkable work done by the Asha Project, working with slum communities in Delhi.  We have raised money for children from the slums to be able to attend university.  Not only are such children the first in their families to go to university, they are often the first in their entire communities to do so.  For the Asha website and more information, click here, and for their latest prayer letter click here

Previous mission projects have given us lasting connections in prayer and support with CMS missionaries David and Heather Sharland in Uganda and previously in Sudan, and the Genesis Project in Bath.

Activities with St Nicholas Bathampton

With our link with St Nicholas Bathampton, St Mary's members get involved in many of the activities there including Home Groups, Alpha Courses, Men's Breakfasts and Women's meals.  St Nicholas is also the centre for the youth and children's work, and houses our Benefice Office.  For more details of the activities at St Nicholas click here
